Three results, three miles, one winner
Search “osteopath near me” and Google shows a map with three clinics above everything else. Those three take the overwhelming majority of the clicks. Position four is, commercially speaking, page two.
Getting into that block is a different discipline from ordinary SEO. It depends on proximity to the searcher, the completeness and activity of your Google Business Profile, your review volume and recency, and how consistently your name, address and phone number appear across the web.
What we do about it
- Catchment mapping. We plot where your existing patients come from, then build a target list of postcodes and neighbourhood names worth ranking for.
- Service plus area pages. One page per meaningful combination. Not four hundred thin doorway pages, which Google now penalises, but genuinely useful pages about treating that condition for that community.
- Citation cleanup. Old addresses, a dead phone number from your first year, a suite number that appears three different ways. We audit every directory listing and make them identical.
- Local links. Running clubs, rugby and netball teams, gyms, the local paper, chamber of commerce, university sports departments. Real relationships in your town, which is exactly what an out-of-area agency cannot get you.
- Grid tracking. We measure rank from multiple points across your catchment, so you can see you rank first from the high street and eleventh from the estate two miles east, and we can do something about it.
Multi-site clinics
If you run three sites, you are effectively running three local SEO campaigns that must not cannibalise each other. Each needs its own profile, its own page, its own review stream, and clean internal linking so Google knows which is which.
